History
This beautiful grade 2 listed building was built in the mid 1890s for James Howell to be used as a family home for his 11 children. Originally known as Grove House.
An unusual aspect of the house is that it was designed to be able to be divided into two. With two front doors and a wall in the cellar, which could have been extension upwards to docide the house into two. The servants occupied the top floor. Also used as a home for the Lord mayor's until 1971. Now used by Cardiff Council as a venue for events, weddings, civil ceremonies, and functions.
