Falstaff’s (Tudor World) 27/04/24

Reported activity:

On our last visit, we had intelligent responses with our kii's, black shadows caught, and so much more. There are several know spirits but who will you encounter will it be the young pick pocketer who is known to remove people’s jewellery, the red eyed hooded figure who just stands and observes he is seen at the same time of the year. A 17th-century serial killer who regularly makes his presence known by interacting physically with guests. Children spirits who love interacting with our equipment, especially the teddies 👻

Falstaff’s know as Tudor world is a medieval building situated on a cobblestone path in the centre of Stratford upon avon. A property has stood on this spot since 1196 but is commonly known as Shrieve house for over 500 years old. The first known tenant was William Shrieve, who was an archer for King henry VIII.

With almost 1000 years it’s no surprise it has so much history from the plague to witchcraft and war. There have been several fires reported at this property, the biggest which occurred in 1595, which resulted in the property having to be rebuilt. William Shakespeare is documented to have walked on the cobblestones that lead to the barn at the rear of the house.

During the 16th century, the building was a tavern. The tavern keeper William Rogers is rumoured to have been inspiring to Shakespeare’s famous comic character, Falstaff. During the time of this property being a tavern, it would have of not only the house but other outhouses, including a stable and a blacksmith.

The building now a living history museum is situated right in the centre of the beautiful Town of Stratford upon Avon, just metres from the world famous RSC, and set within an historic 16th century grade 2* building.

With all the history associated with this building, it is no wonder there is so much reported activity. With this building sitting on 5 ley lines, there are also reported to be several vortexes on the upper floor, meaning travelling spirits and come and go.
